LIBERAL PARTY |
NOTICE OF MEETING
DATE: Sunday, May 15th, 2005
TIME: 11:00 A.M.
PLACE:
520 Eighth Avenue, 22nd Floor
in New York City
The focus agenda will be:
- Discussion of 2005 and 2006 elections as to candidates we intend to support and setting
a date to interview 2005 candidates. You should know that the first date for us to circulate
petitions is July 12th, 2005 and that petitions must be filed between August 16 - 23;
- The Liberal Party Platform: A summary of the two (2) Issues Committee meetings;
- A report by Jack Olchin concerning the legal action to be taken to try to have Section 7-104
of the Election Law amended to include the Office of Lt. Governor which is omitted as an exemption
to the general rule and separate action to be taken to have the entire section
declared unconstitutional by the Federal Courts, so a candidate having two legal party lines
and who then obtains the required number of signatures for an independent body party
(which is the present status of the Liberal Party) will not just have the emblem of the
Liberal Party (Liberal Bell) next to his/her name on one of the legal party lines but will
actually be on the Liberal Party line itself with our Liberal Bell;
- Such other and further business as may come before this meeting.
We look forward to seeing you on May 15th.
Sincerely yours,
SELMA OLCHIN
Acting Secretary
(516) 374-1966
JACK OLCHIN
1st Vice Chairman
