efore the LIBERAL PARTY can regain its automatic place on the ballot for all elections in New York State, (which it held from its founding in 1944 until 2004) we must first acquire 15,000 signatures on our petition drive for Governor. ANY REGISTERED VOTER who has not signed another petition may sign ours.
As you will see below we are fielding our own candidates for Governor and Lieutenant Governor and each has issues of special importance to them and to you - even if some of them are new to you, they are fine candidates.
Get to know a bit about them by reading below, then learn how you can sign a petition to put the LIBERAL PARTY back in a position where it can again influence the values and policies of government in New York State. We desperately need a genuinely liberal outlook for a good, clean government working for the people and not the politicians themselves.
There is nothing we see in the major party candidates that is anything different from what we've had for years now - the most dysfunctional, impotent legislature in America - without a man or woman 'at the top' who is the kind of leader smart or courageous enough to make change happen.
Now go on to meet PROFESSOR EDWARD CULVERT, our candidate for GOVERNOR and SHARON KROEGER, our candidate for LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR.
We look forward to hearing from you! Your signature on a petition is not a vote for a candidate - the real votes don't happen until November 2nd. But your signature is a "vote" for the EXISTENCE and VALUES of the LIBERAL PARTY.

SUPPORT THE REAL POPULISTS
1) CORPORATIONS: Corporations do not have human rights, but are organizations created by state government, which then has an ongoing responsibility to protect the public from abuse by those corporations.
2) HYDRO-FRACKING: The Liberal Party opposes the legalization of “fracking”, which forces poisonous chemicals
deep into the ground in order to extract natural gas and causes extensive damage to whole public watersheds and
drinking water supplies.
3) VOTING MACHINES: We support continued use of “tried and true” mechanical lever voting machines in New
York State, and, based on scientific information, reject the idea that electronic voting machines can be safely used in a
democratic society.
4) LYME DISEASE: Noting that Lyme Disease has reached epidemic proportions in New York State, that there is a
disagreement among physicians about treatment methods, and that actions by state agencies such as Health and
Insurance have contributed to the denial of needed services, the Liberal Party advocates a State commission to review
the scientific findings related to this epidemic and its treatment.
5) SMALL BUSINESS: Because self employed small business persons are an important part of re-building the economy
and maintaining a stable society and because they are currently forced to function under the severe disadvantage
of “one size fits all” State regulation, the Liberal Party advocates new public management based on capability.
6) FOOD SECURITY: In order to assure a sustainable food supply, the Liberal Party advocates stronger support for
family farms by the Department of Agriculture and Markets, the preservation of quality soils for farmland, and the prevention
of genetically modified crops in New York State which could contaminate the natural and organic food supply.
7) MORTGAGE FORECLOSURES: With almost half of all mortgages moving toward “under water” status, and federal reform programs paralyzed by special interests, the states must create remedies to keep families in their homes, modify mortgages, and stabilize communities.
HELP BRING BACK THE POLICIES AND BELIEFS THAT MADE NEW YORK STATE THE EMPIRE STATE.
