                                     (Between Park & Madison Aves.)

                                     New York, N. Y. 10016

TIME:     2:00 P.M. SHARP (We must vacate the room at 4:30 P.M.)

The Liberal Party, under the leadership of Chairman Henry J. Stern and Executive Director Jack Olchin and the recognized leadership of the Long Island, New York City and Westchester Liberal Party County organizations, have set this meeting for Saturday, January 10, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. for the express purpose of establishing the Liberal Party’s political and organizational strategies for the next several years of activity.  This is a critically important meeting in the Party’s history and your attendance is vital.

The agenda of the meeting will be:

1- Introductory remarks by Chairman Henry J. Stern.

2- To set a strategy for building an active Liberal Party-discussion to be chaired by former State Executive Director Martin I. Hassner.

3- Discussion of the decision by United States District Judge John Gleeson to the effect that persons presently enrolled in the Liberal Party are still enrolled as Liberals and how persons not presently enrolled in the Liberal Party can enroll in our Party. The decision has been appealed by the New York State Board of Elections to the United States Court of Appeals. There are certain limitations contained in the New York State Election Law that we will also discuss and actions we will have to take with regard to those sections of the Election Law by seeking repeal of those sections by the State Legislature or by bringing an action in Federal Court for the relief we seek.  Our Executive Director, Jack Olchin will chair this discussion.

4- Discussion of the 2004, 2005 & 2006 elections and action we may want to take in each of those years.  Most critical is action in the 2004 Election for President of the United States.

5- Martin I. Hassner was named Chair of our Public Affairs Committee at our meeting on June 14th, 2003.  He has asked that you forward any suggestions that you may want us to discuss at this meeting to him:

Martin I. Hassner, 8 Hook Road, Rye, NY 10580

6- Discussion of a Fund Raiser and any other and further business as may come before this meeting.

We look forward to seeing you on January 10th.  We also want you to know that some Public Officials are planning to attend this meeting either in person or by sending a representative, as well as the Media.  We want a big turnout to demonstrate that we are serious in bringing the Liberal Party back as a Legal Party in New York State and in the interim how we can be playing a significant role in the 2004, 2005, and 2006 elections.

Sincerely,

Henry J. Stern,

Jack Olchin,

Chairman
